How the heck does it work? Bad instructions!

Very excited about this app, so I bought it for my iPad today.

Cant for the life of me figure out how it works- the Contacts field is blank ... in kther words my contacts did not sync automatically.
There are no instructions on how to get your contact list on to the app ... in order to manipulate/delete them (which is why I wanted the app in the first place).
What gives!?!
